The American ethnomusicologist Louis Sarno has devoted much of his life to documenting one of the most remote and ancient musical traditions on the planet, that of the Bayaka Pygmies in the Central African Republic. From the rain jungle to the asphalt jungle of New York, the documentary reconstructs the spiritual journey of a man fleeing from “civilization,” in search of a (impossible?) reconciliation with nature, of a primitive harmony “into the wild” of a sub-Saharan Walden.
