AWAKE, A DREAM FROM STANDING ROCK
by Myron Dewey, Josh Fox and James Spione, USA, 2017, 89’

The Sioux tribe of Standing Rock in North Dakota gained global attention by peacefully protesting against an oil pipeline that threatens the drinking water of millions of people, and that has already caused the destruction of its sacred cemeteries. A compelling and exciting documentary poem that connects an episode of local resistance with the health of the planet and the actual and symbolic violence of the industrialized West.
